
Pinnacle Skills celebrates 10th founding anniversary
Advisor of Labour, Employment & Skill Development and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer, on Monday, 29th May 2023, said there was a time when large population was considered a burden to the state as there were more mouths to feed but contrary to the assumption, a large population was actually an asset, even more if it was more of young population.
Moatoshi was speaking as chief guest at the 10th Founding Anniversary programme of Pinnacle Skills, at AIDA Hall, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur. He pointed out that nearly 40% of Indian population was aged between 13 to 35 years, which was defined as youth under National Youth Policy and with population increasing the government of India laid down many policies to be “Skill Ready” population. The advisor also acknowledged the Pinnacle Skills on its 10th Anniversary and thanked CEO, Pinnacle Skills, Dr. Yan Murry and his associates for sincere stewardship in leading and guiding the Pinnacle Skill and achieving the milestone. He said Nagaland was facing a grim future and difficult times ahead since many youths, both educated and uneducated, were unemployed. Longkumer therefore said it should be the responsibility and concern for everyone and stressed on finding ways and means to solve this problem. He pointed that Nagaland was 4th amongst 36 state UTs in India with highest unemployment rate according to annual Periodic Labour Force Survey for 2021-2022, a report released by Government of India on February 24, 2023.
He expressed happiness to note that Pinnacle Skill have stepped in at the right time. He also assured to work together in wherever possible and expressed hope on tackling many situations by collaboration and co-operation with commitment.
Delivering welcome address, CEO, Pinnacle Skills, Dr Yan Murry, informed that the institution had provided employment to over 8000 youths since its inception. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Sr Manager, Operations, Pinnacle Skills, Nagatoli Achumi and invocation offered by pastor, Covenant Baptist Church Dimapur, Yabang Longkumer.
Short speeches were also delivered by chairman, Pinnacle Skills, Dr John Murry, head, Business Development & Placement Skills, Debojyoti Sarkar, and vote of thanks by head operations, Pinnacle Skills, Ajung Thonger.
